Welcome to our Junior’s Activity Corner !

The PNWGSC has seen the involvement & participation of junior’s many times over the years. As defined by AKC, a junior is age 9-17. In recent years, the two areas within the PNWGSC that offer good opportunities for juniors are in annual conformation events and in annual hunt test events.

Conformation

Annual PNWGSC Specialty & numerous local conformation events in the Pacific Northwest provide many opportunities for juniors to learn, practice and gain experience with Gordon Setter care, grooming, training, handling, showmanship, and sportsmanship.

Hunt Test

Juniors can also get involved in field events. The club has put on an annual Hunt Test in the Pacific Northwest for many years and there are other field events scheduled throughout the year in the Pacific Northwest. Juniors, with proper mentoring & oversight, are able to learn, practice and become knowledgeable about Gordon Setter field training, handling, and hunting safety.
